  • Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
  • Count vehicles on location throughout shift, as needed.
  • Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.
  • Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts, if applicable.
  • Provide assistance to customers that have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
  • Responsible for being at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
  • Courteously assist Customers by answering any questions they may have. If necessary, direct the Customer to the Facility Manager for further assistance.
  • Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and any general maintenance tasks as directed by the Facility Manager.
  • Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager.
  • Communicate debris, water, oil spills and etc. to garage office.
  • Substitute for Valets when necessary, if authorized.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the garage.
  • Assist Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

vDirect motorists to parking areas or parking spaces, using hand signals or flashlights as necessary.

 Patrol parking areas in order to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property thefts.

Park and retrieve automobiles for customers in parking lots, storage garages, or new car lots.
  Greet customers and open their car doors.

 Calculate parking charges, and collect fees from customers.

 Issue ticket stubs, or place numbered tags on windshields, and give customers matching tags for locating parked vehicles.



 Lift, position, and remove barricades in order to open or close parking areas.

 Inspect vehicles in order to detect any damage.

 Review motorists' identification before allowing them to enter parking facilities.




 Escort customers to their vehicles in order to ensure their safety.

 Service vehicles with gas, oil, and water.

 Perform maintenance on cars in storage in order to protect tires, batteries, and exteriors from deterioration.

Parking Lot Attendant

Responsible for parking vehicles, taking payments for vehicles already parked, and directing patrons into open spots.

Primary responsibilities

  • Perform valet duties and park vehicles in open spots.
  • Take tickets from waiting patrons and park or retrieve vehicles.
  • Manipulate vehicles to take advantage of all spaces.
  • Collect fees from patrons wishing to park in garage.
  • Hold up signs advertising parking lot fees.
  • Call tow trucks if person is parked illegally.
  • Issue tags to customers to put up in their windshields for display.
  • Clean up debris from parking lot.
  • Use hand signals and lights to direct patrons into open spots.

  • Ensure cameras are working properly in case an accident happens.
